4 Ingredient #vegan Oreo ice cream | minimaleats.com

In summer I could eat only ice creams, popsicles, smoothies and salads, I love them! It’s so hot here in the South of Spain and we need to eat fresh recipes to beat the heat. This 4 ingredient vegan Oreo ice cream is so amazing, it’s simple and it’s one of my favorite ice cream recipes.

You can make ice cream with an ice cream maker, but it’s not necessary, you can make it using a bowl, a spoon and a freezer-safe container.

If you’re a celiac or you’re on a gluten-free diet, you can make these homemade gluten-free Oreos, they are vegan, much healthier and also wheat and gluten free.

I don’t eat processed food very often, but I love Oreos and I eat them once in a while, in addition, it’s not easy to find vegan cookies in the stores here in Spain, so if I want to buy vegan cookies, Oreos are the best choice.

I’ve used coconut sugar, but you can use other sweetener, such as brown sugar, syrups, molasses, stevia or your favorite one. I also love agave syrup to make ice creams, it works so good.

If you don’t want to use soy milk, you can use coconut milk instead, I’ve made other ice cream recipes using it, and it’s a good choice too. I haven’t used others plant milks, so I don’t know if they could work, but you can try!

To make your own homemade ice cream is really easy, and it’s much healthier (and cheaper) than store bought, even if you use processed food such as these Oreo cookies. If you’ve never made ice cream at home, you need to try this recipe, it’s so simple and you’re gonna love this creamy and refreshing 4 ingredient vegan Oreo ice cream.

If you’ve never made ice cream at home, you need to try this recipe, it’s so simple and you’re gonna love this 4 ingredient vegan Oreo ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups soy milk (1 l)
  • 6.8 fl oz soy whipped cream (200 ml)
  • 4 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 14 Oreo cookies

Instructions

  1. Mix in a bowl the soy milk, the soy whipped cream and the sugar.
  2. Add the Oreo cookies (chopped). Let the mixture stand in the fridge for at least 4 hours. If you’re not going to use an ice cream maker, you can skip this step. Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and keep the ice cream in the freezer.
  3. If you’re using an ice cream maker, add the mixture to your chilled ice cream maker bowl and churn following the manufacturer’s instructions. The ice cream is ready in 40 to 45 minutes.
  4. If you’re not using an ice cream maker, place the container in the freezer. Check the mixture every 30 minutes, when the mixture starts to freeze near the edges, remove it from the freezer and stir it vigorously with a spatula or a whisk. Return to freezer. Repeat this step for at least 2 or 3 hours.

Hi Madeleine, if you write ‘ice cream’ in the upper-right search box, you will find healthier ice creams.
      Have a nice day!

What a nice simple recipe! I was wondering if it’s possible to substitute the whipped cream to soy creamer (for coffee) because that’s the only thing closest to soy whipped cream that I have.

Hi Jane! I’ve never made this recipe using soy creamer, so I can’t help you, sorry!

I made it with Silk Coffee Creamer instead of the whipped cream and it worked out great! My only issue is that there’s so much water in soy that it freezes solid in the freezer, makes it super hard to scoop. I’d suggest doing half batches and eating it the same day!

Hi there – this looks great! I’m just curious – the recipe lists 4.8 mg of cholesterol in the nutrition info. But given that this is a vegan recipe, where is the cholesterol coming from? Just curious

Hi Matt! Hi Maya! Thanks a lot for your comments. I use an app to get the nutritional info, so I guess it thought I used non-vegan cookies. Have a nice day!

Hi, great recipe ! Can’t wait to try it. Can I use soy cream for this recipe ? I’m not sure if I can find soy whipped cream here in Paris, but I’ll try.
Would that work with soy cream though ? Thanks 🙂

You can use coconut cream or coconut milk. If you can’t find them, use soy milk or any plant milk with fat 🙂

        Aha, yes indeed.
In England they sell gluten free Oreo-like biscuits which I used.
Thanks again for your fabulous recipes.
        Rebecca.

Oh! You’re so lucky! Here in Spain there are no many gluten-free products 🙁
